Hi everyone,

Mid- February: for many it means getting closer to Spring; for others it's perfect weather for winter activities. Whichever group you're in, hope all is well with you.

This is a reminder of the Canning and District Recreational Commission Public Meeting to be held at NKEC on Wednesday, February 19, 2014. The purpose is to vote to renew the annual area rate for recreation which funds the Recreation Director position and other programming.

Registration of voters begins at 6:45 pm; voting will take place between 7:30 and 7:45pm. Please try to attend; the Recreational Commission deserves our support.

 

Also, we are excited to be able to offer another chance to participate in daytime Therapeutic Yoga. This is a program designed for those of us with mature bodies and perhaps mobility or recuperation issues.

Absolute beginners are welcome, as are those who joined the sessions last year.

As before, the sessions will be led by Jennifer White and will be held at the Lloyd Memorial Centre, Kingsport. Classes start Thursday March 6 at 9.15am. The price is an astounding $30 for the six week session, thanks to the Kings County Active Seniors grant.
