Hi everyone,

Mid-January: if you haven’t planned a fitness routine for the winter, now is the time! If you
haven’t participated in one of our programs for a while, please come back! We miss you!
Following is a listing of our present programs including a new offering!

1. Strength and Cardio: Monday, Wednesday and Friday; 9 – 10 am - Lloyd Centre. The
winter 8 week session began January 7 but you can join anytime. $25.00 for 8 classes or
$4.00 drop-in fee. Christine keeps us moving, tries to keep us focused J and makes it
fun for all ages and abilities.
• Please note that the Tuesday and Thursday evening classes are not being offered
this term.

2. Co-ed Circuit Training: Tuesday and Thursday; 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Work through 12 or
more stations in one minute intervals in an hour. Irene as facilitator provides warm ups,
cool downs and a keen eye throughout the sessions. Richard Foot, Dave Morton and
Sarah Hayes work together to design new circuits every 8 weeks. New session begins
Tuesday, Jan. 22. $25.00 for 8 classes; $50.00 if you’d like to attend twice a week for 8
weeks. Drop in anytime for $4.00/session.

3. Yoga: Monday; 6 – 7:15 pm. Emmanuel United Church Hall. Our instructor Jenna ,
energetic, encouraging, competent! Great Yoga class. This 6 week session began January
7 however you can drop by anytime for a $10.00 fee.

4. ***NEW*** Therapeutic Yoga: Beginning February 7, 2013, Lloyd Centre; Thursday 9
to 10:15 am. The Instructor Jennifer White has studied internationally. She has been
teaching “Marvelously Mature” yoga sessions in Wolfville. Jenifer has designed a
program for individuals with mature bodies who are interested in healthy aging. If
you’re new to Yoga, returning after a time away, dealing with a chronic condition or
just want to experience the benefits of Yoga….this is for you. You must register for the
full 6 week program; 6 classes for $30.00. This reduced price is possible due to funding
received through the Kings Active Seniors Grant program.

The Kingsport Fitness & Wellness Society will be holding their first annual AGM in the
coming months. Watch for more details. Please consider becoming a member of KFWS.
For only $5.00/year, you get to be part of the decision making and you’ll receive a 10%
discount on purchases made at Sport Chek in New Minas. Join anytime!

“Your Way to Wellness”: Once a week, six week program through the Department of
Health will be offered at the Lloyd Centre starting Tuesday, January 22 at 1 pm. There is
no cost for this self management program. Designed for those with a chronic condition
or who supports someone else with a chronic condition. Learn skills to help you develop
and maintain an active, fulfilling life. If transportation is required, please contact Merle
at 582-7279.

With thanks to the Eastern Kings Memorial Health Foundation for funds received,
Niamh Webster will be training as a Senior Fitness Instructor to offer low impact
daytime classes in the spring.
