Ladies and Gentlemen, your attention please!

For the modest sum of $5 we offer an annual membership in the
Kingsport Fitness and Wellness Society. Benefits include 10% discount
at Sportchek in New Minas and a voice in what we do.

Our Society has had a dynamic first year. We increased our offerings,
starting the year with 3 morning and 2 evening cardio/strength classes
and now we offer 3 mornings, 2 evening Circuit Training, 1 Yoga
evening and 1 Yoga daytime class as well as Aquafit during the summer

All this takes organization, planning and fundraising. We successfully
secured grants from EKM Health Foundation, Eastern Kings CHB and Kings
Active Seniors program. We continue to be partially funded by Canning
& Area District Rec and we received discounts from Sportchek on the
equipment we purchased. As well, we held a profitable plant sale and
enjoyed participating in Kingsport Gala Days. In October we
volunteered for the Valley Harvest Run.

But mainly we kept active and had fun. We try to be welcoming to all
participants whether local, visiting or seasonal and we're already
looking to expand and enhance our activities. In the coming months
we'll have a new instructor, Niamh Webster, who’ll be offering a
daytime low impact workout for seniors. We’ll say "farewell" to Jenna
Pennington, our evening yoga instructor and encourage Melanie Amos as
she completes the Yoga instructor program and offers her new yoga

Our first Annual General Meeting will be held in early April and we
encourage everyone who enjoys our fitness and wellness activities to
join us (remember just $5) and we can continue what we do with your
ideas in the year ahead. Yes, we would love volunteers to make
posters, phone calls, take photos and all the other things that don't
happen by themselves.
